Artifactuality's solution for Minyanville's web TV
graphic package

Think we disappeared? NOT! Artifactuality has been busy! Since our last
eBlast in October, Artifactuality launched its first exhibition booth at the NJAWBO's
Holiday Marketplace Expo. In the holiday spirit, we handed out
dozens of eco-friendly memo pads designed by Christine. (If you didn't
get one, let us know--we'll send one to you.) Then, in the coldest part
of the
winter here in the Northeast, Artifactuality designed, very SoCal, two
graphic packages for a new MTV series, Daddy's Girls, which is a
spin-off of
the popular series Run's House. Artifactuality also helped two friends launch two great ideas. One based in the cutting-edge
technology of
motion
capture and webTV, and the other steeped in the teachings from thousands of years ago.
MTV's Daddy's Girls are the Simmons
Sisters, Vanessa and Angela,
the
precious daughters of Rev. Run (of Run D.M.C.) and nieces of Russell Simmons. The reality series Daddy's Girls, spinning off from Run's
House, began
with the sisters moving to the City of Angels, starting a life
without daddy. Artifactuality designed and produced the graphic
package for
the launch special ("From Run's House to Our House") and the reunion special ("Pastry Party") of this
classic tale of girls become
of age in the MTV
style. Thanks to our good friend, 3D designer, an overall great guy, Mosheer, who helped us with the 3D heavy-lifting.
Pastry Party premiered on Feb 16. For as long as MTV.com hosts this video on their site, watch our graphic in action here. Other than that,
visit our site to check out the opening sequence of both the launch and
the reunion specials of Daddy's Girls.
By the way, we also helped our friend Scooter with his topical holiday card. (See "Scootobama" on the right.)
The financial news web TV site Minyanville worked with Artifactuality this winter. As the
markets tanked, Emmy-winning Minyanville
bravely moved on to make sense of it all. A funny and clever
financial news website, Hoofy the bull
anchorman
and Boo the bear reporter, talk, crack on, and with a slight edge, go
over the financial topics of the day in a style you won't see with
Katie
C. Artifactuality designed 3 show graphic sequences for
Minyanville's webTV broadcast and had our first opportunity to work
with Live Spark
in
Minneapolis, who made Hoofy and Boo come alive with their motion
capture tool. For anyone who's had nightmares working with 3D, this
technique is a
lot of fun. Go to Minyanville TV to watch them in action.
Our long-time friend and yoga teacher Rebecca Bergstrom recently opened her new studio
YogaDesha in Montclair. Artifactuality
helped her on her way to business nirvana by designing and printing her new
business cards and marketing materials. Congratulations and best of luck, Rebecca! Namasté.
Last but not least,
Artifactuality has a blog!
Finally
there's a place for
us to write down our thoughts, ideas and lots of project-related
stories. We started with a couple of posts detailing some recent
projects and new
experiences... So come by, take a look and share your thoughts here
or log onto: www.artifactuality.wordpress.com. Also Bob the map geek rants on at
www.mapmastery.wordpress.com. A brass figlagee with a bronze oak leaf cluster would be awarded to the person who leaves the first serious
map comment
to the map blog... Have fun! :-)
